SIG ONLINE - THE VIRTUAL COMMUNICATOR

Are you a new manager learning to lead your team virtually or perhaps newly tasked with facilitating virtual training? Well join us for a discussion on the three elements of virtual communication: Preparation, Participation and Presence. Most teams leverage a virtual format occasionally, so remote working wasn’t an entirely new concept prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. But the reality is most people have been leaning into their skills with in-person communication and assuming that they transferred OK for remote communication. Even Managers are beginning to realize that the concepts that work for managing a team and communicating effectively are being tested. Some concepts transfer OK; while others don’t at all. Facilitator and Communications Coach, Francie Schulwolf will lead the discussion and help managers, facilitators, and teams rethink their virtual image.

LEARNER OBJECTIVES:

  •    The blind spots of a virtual communicator
  •    Expectations of a virtual customer
  •    Ability to read the room
