Topic:   Who doesn’t strive to leverage business advantage by hiring top talent? But top talent often comes with a hefty price tag that not all organizations can afford! So many companies develop talent from within their own ranks. This can create sustainable advantage or burn through lots of training dollars without producing significant results.

Effective training programs require strategic partnerships within the organization as well as a focus on putting in place the key mechanisms that deliver needed competencies on a reasonable timeline. A little planning and up-front effort pays off in the long run. Preventing your training professionals from chasing clients with courses and materials that don’t meet the needs of operations personnel hustling to serve a dynamic and competitive market.

Speaker:   Fred Stawitz is a national award-winning educator/writer and a Top 20 Recipient of the Leadership 500 Awards LEAD 2016 hosted by HR.com. He researches, writes, and speaks on the impact of the workplace environment on safety, productivity, and employee engagement. He has chaired several national HR and safety conferences. 

His work has bee recognized by the National Education Association, National Science Teachers Association, and NASA. He developed skills-based training programs for InterGen (a Shell/Bechtel joint energy venture) and the United Space Alliance Ascent Flight Design Group where he also created desktop simulations for complex space shuttle systems used to train the astronauts. 

He led the development of online technical training for El Paso Corporation, the largest natural gas pipeline company in the United States, and is currently the Principal for Technical Training at Kinder Morgan, the fourth largest energy company in North America. 

He has appeared on CNN Headline News – Local Edition in Southern California, a PBS local affiliate special in Pennsylvania, several television news/talk radio shows, nationally syndicated radio programs, and was quoted in a special Congressional Quarterly report.
