Developing effective visual aids that support the learning process is critical to effective training programs. But does your mind go blank when you sit down to generate ideas? Do you struggle with how to incorporate data into coherent persuasive slides? Do you have SME’s that want too many words in the slide deck? At the end of the hour, you will have actionable steps to change your approach to communicating persuasively.

  • Develop Big Idea and map audience needs, to guide content creation.
  • Gain a new slide development process that will change your thinking.
  • Choose the best visuals to deliver your content and ensure maximum learning transfer

Speaker:  Laura Wall Klieves, VP Duarte Academy

The daughter of a retired elementary school teacher, Laura’s unrequited love is teaching. And with three decades of experience as a marketing executive for big and small advertising agencies and clients, Laura brings a vast knowledge of visual story to Duarte.

Today, Laura serves as Duarte’s VP of Marketing and Academy – a dual role that keeps her busy. In the latter role, Laura oversees the workshop content and design as well as the facilitation and sales teams. She joined Duarte in 2010, just months after the very first Slide:ology workshop was created, and has been instrumental in expanding Nancy Duarte’s award-winning books into three additional instructor-led workshops, and an award-winning eCourse.

Laura is an accomplished speaker, delivering presentations focused on visual storytelling and best practices at conferences including Training Magazine, Association of Training and Development, the eLearning Guild, and to global brands including Hilton, Kantar, SAP and McAfee. When Laura has the opportunity to facilitate a workshop, she brings a wealth of experience in great visual design and storytelling from the trenches and weaves these stories into the learning throughout the workshop. Her energetic and easy-going style creates a great learning environment.
