While Tin Can API can report many of the same learning records as SCORM, Tin Can API was designed to be more flexible, more mobile and more easily integrated into other systems. With Tin Can API, organizations can design, track and report activities not possible with a traditional LMS.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify capabilities of Tin Can API
  • Distinguish basic functionality of traditional LMS from a Learning Record Store (LRS)
  • Recognize the basic structure of Tin Can API statements
  • Given a training program, identify instructional design possibilities for tracking and reporting mobile learning
