GENERAL MEETING - Exploring Mobile Performance Support Systems in the Workplace

A mobile performance support system (MPSS) provides workers with just-in-time assistance to complete tasks anytime, anywhere. Although a few companies have adopted the approach, research on its effectiveness in the workplace is limited.

Join the ATD 2023 Dissertation Award recipient, Dr. Yao Huang, a Florida State University graduate, and Assistant Professor from Sam Houston State University, to share her dissertation study results of the challenges and benefits of adopting a mobile performance support system for Learning & Development organizations in North America. Dr. Huang will talk about the need for the study and how the findings can equip Learning & Development professionals with empirical study results on human performance technologies.

You'll learn how to:

  • Define mobile performance support system (MPSS)
  • Unveil current literature about MPSS characteristics
  • Disclose the findings about the benefits and challenges of adopting MPSS by organizations
  • Discuss the implications of the study for L&D professionals
