Description: The ability to use best practices for writing eLearning narration scripts to produce sound, effective narration can increase learner retention and engagement. However, an understanding of how to effectively apply narration to eLearning has the potential to expand flexibility to instructional design and delivery which supports learning retention and engagement. Additionally, connecting the benefits of both self-narration and outsourcing narration can help determine which approach is best for a particular project.

After attending the presentation, participants will be knowledgeable of the benefits of both self-narration and outsourcing narration and be able to determine which approach is best for a particular project. For outsourcing, participants will understand how to estimate the financial cost of budget planning, and how to find a narrator. Participants will have an understanding of specific audio file technical specifications such as file parsing requirements, naming conventions, file type options, and bit-rate requirements.
