Topic:   Employee Retention and Engagement are now the #1 issues companies face. Almost 90% of over 4000 companies researched state that ‘retention, engagement and culture’ are imperative for company success and 50% rate the issues urgent. The key question corporate leaders need to ask is how to build a corporate community that truly inspires and engages our multigenerational workforce. We need to create working environments that support day-to-day collaboration and allow junior employees to use their connectedness to enrich their work and share new ideas to solve customer or client challenges.

The solution lies in utilizing an organization’s Connectional Intelligence – Harnessing the power of relationships and networks created by employees’ individual drive and innovative intelligence to transform workplaces into cultures designed to maximize productive relationships and connect people and their ideas, resources and creativity. Connectional Intelligence is critical to thriving markets. The new disruptive generations of the future are using social media platforms and utilizing collaborative team building apps to break down and break through antiquated HR surveys and expensive external consultants to get to the heart of the most important issues to employees and then quickly provide actionable solutions and insights. Technological social trends are revolutionizing the way that companies are able to collect, analyze and use employee feedback. The millennial mindset recognizes the importance of building connections. To be innovative, you must be in the middle of a wide range of diverse networks. The future of business is not about more cutthroat competition but about creating collaborative cultures for maximum employee engagement to get things done and open up networks that drive innovation.

Unimaginable transformations are driven by the next century of innovators: Millennials. This new group of Consumers, the first-born of the digital era, a 77 million-strong consumer group with an estimated $1.4T purchasing power by 2020. They are quickly becoming the largest consumer group. By 2020, Millennials will comprise 75% of the American workforce.

The #2 biggest trend companies face is building a global leadership brand that attracts top tier talent. Every company’s employment brand is now on the internet. Organizations are naked – anyone, anywhere in the world at any time can research company culture, employee feedback and financials online. Employment branding has become increasingly important now more than ever.

The 3rd priority issue facing companies is leadership development and performance management practices. Management must drive the behaviors and take the time to develop its people. Now more than ever, the millennial generation is building online communities to solve the big problems facing leading organizations. More connectionally intelligent professionals are disrupting traditional methodologies of employee hiring, engagement, performance reviews, culture, leadership practices and are driving process improvement, growth and innovation in more fascinating ways.
