Event Description:  Have you ever noticed that the transfer rate of skills to the job for programs like transformational leadership or communication skills tend to be much poorer than for other leadership competencies like goal-setting or interviewing skills? Even with highly motivated participants or fabulous level 1 and 2 evaluations, the statistics are poor for training transfer of most leadership development programs. If you examine the mechanics behind how the brain learns behavior-based skills versus knowledge-based skills, you will see hints as to how to create leadership programs that stick. This presentation outlines the five components your leadership development programs must include for behavior change to last.

Learner Objectives:  Drawing upon the latest research in learning, habit construction, and habit reversal together with the most promising research in training for behaviorally based competencies, Corinne will provide learning leaders with specific strategies to improve the transfer rates of their leadership development programs. Whether you are designing, customizing, or deploying leadership development training, it’s not too late to incorporate these techniques into your programs.
